Drive chokes on large transcript files, fails to convert text
Size limits rule out every transcript in this document set.
Google Drive couldn't get out of the starting gate in this test of combatant tribunal transcripts because of its file size restrictions.
It failed to upload three of the five documents because they exceeded its 2 MB limit (our files were 3.4 MB, 3.2 MB, 2.6 MB). It did upload two other smaller files, but Drive's documentation notes "we only look at the first 10 pages when searching for text to extract." In both documents, the sample passages appeared after the 10th page and were cut off.
