OmniPage Pro whipped through these transcripts from combatant tribunals fast, recognizing the text in all but a few areas with lower quality scans.
Based on comparisons with samples of the overall document set, the software introduced errors in only 0.5 percent of the text -- nearly flawless performance. Among the words it missed were a few Arabic names -- "Ana" instead of "Atta" and "Anmar instead of "Ammar." It also had a little trouble with faded text in one portion of the document, where the scan wasn't as good as others.
OmniPage's recognition options, which allow users to define the format of the document, also helps make sure the recognized text isn't split into columns.
Between its speed and accuracy, OmniPage is more than a match for this kind of document.
