This table of Clinton Administration political appointments has rows of varying depths, and PDF2XL struggled with the format. Users would need to know the ins and outs of macros to work with a document like this after the conversion process.

The program took its best guess at where the row boundaries were, but was often confused by entries repeated with shorthand down multiple rows and separate headings -- a so-called one-to-many relationship. Text wrapped down multiple lines also gave the program trouble.

Although it read the document and produced a usable working version in preview mode, its row editing mode allowed cleanup at a clip of 1 to 2 minutes per page. This effort to perfect the docuement is fine for a 20-page document maybe, but not this 320-page epic.

It's possible that a user with experience in Visual Basic macros could bypass the editing function and clean it more quickly in Excel, but clearly this program isn't the best tool for this job.
